DOOM 64
DOOM 64 is a remastered port of the classic first-person shooter that launched for the Nintendo 64 all the way back in 1997. It's a perfect dose of nostalgia for any older gamer out there or for anyone who fancies experiencing an interactive history lesson. DOOM influenced a lot of shooters that came after, so if you're a video game connoisseur, it's worth checking it out if you haven't before.
The aim of the game is pretty simple. Blast your way through hordes of demons across 30 levels. On your journey, you will amass a veritable armoury of weapons that will inexplicably manage to fit into the character's back pocket. You'll be able to slay demons with a shotgun, rocket launcher, and plasma rifle, among others.
There is a story, but frankly, you won't feel the need to pay much attention to it. Running around and taking down demons is more than enough motivation in this adrenaline-pumping adventure.
Banjo-Kazooie
From one dark and edgy game to the polar opposite, with one that's infinitely more colourful and cutesy. Banjo-Kazooie was also first released on Nintendo 64 in 1998 before coming to Xbox 360 in 2008. It follows the titular duo as they embark on a puzzle-platformer adventure to musical notes and jigsaw pieces known as Jiggies. Along the way, the pair will run into several NPCs who will gladly help them out on their journey.
What's more, if you try Banjo-Kazooie and find yourself wanting more, you can also find Banjo-Tooie on Xbox Game Pass. The beloved sequel was released on Nintendo 64 in 2000 and later on the Xbox 360 in 2009. But now, thanks to Xbox Game Pass, you can enjoy both as part of your subscription on your Xbox One or phone.

Fallout 3
Fallout 3 might not be the oldest entry on this list, but it was released over a decade ago and has undeniably earned classic status since then. It was the first game that saw the popular series move from an isometric perspective into first-person, finding a new fanbase along the way.
If you're unfamiliar, it takes place in the aftermath of nuclear war and sees you take on the role of the Lone Wanderer before setting off on an adventure through the Capital Wasteland after leaving Vault 101. There you will meet dozens of NPCs and complete quests to earn experience to transform yourself into an unstoppable survivor.
Though there is a story to follow, most of the joy in Fallout 3 comes from exploring the Capital Wasteland and battling against Super Mutants, Raiders and numerous oversized bugs. You can spend hours exploring caves and underground facilities in search of loot without realising how much time has passed.
The Bard's Tale Trilogy
The Bard's Tale Trilogy is a remastering of the RPG series that began in the 1980s. As the name implies, it contains the first three games - The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown, The Bard’s Tale II: The Destiny Knight, and The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate. You will be able to form a merry band and play with them across all three games.
Throughout your adventure, you will attempt to save a city that's been trapped by a wizard and reforge the Destiny Wand. And if that wasn't enough, you will also travel across all of time and space to do battle with a Mad God. It's certainly a story that goes places, that's for sure. Whether you're an old fan of the series or interested in gaming history, The Bard's Tale is a must-play.
